John Moonan is an Austin based multi media artist who designs works of art that imitate and resemble natural forms. His work ranges in form and function which include jewelry, vessels, sculpture and assemblage. Using ceramics as anchor in his work he also incorporates found objects and recycled materials that can provoke feelings of familiarity and wonder.
Moonan is inspired by nature and strives to highlight the textures and patterns that often get overlooked in daily life. Ultimately his work may remind us of our connection to earth and our ability to preserve and harness certain information that in turn can be presented and shared with others to stimulate creativity.
